Time Out!

Whoa - Time out!

Two words that can be exceedingly useful.

They are used in a variety of situations. For example:

• In sports (to call unnecessary roughness)

• In parenting (to call out “inappropriate” behavior)

• In psychology (to stimulate behavioral modification)

• In exercising (to take a “breather” and re-energize)

• In business planning (to re-focus and set fresh directions)

• In negotiations (to defuse roadblocks and unproductive aggressiveness)

• In surgery (see below*)

How about a national time out -  to recognize the real end-game that led to our country’s birth? Conditions seem to call for it. Thanksgiving might be an apt time.

Let’s not get overwhelmed by political process and its complications.

It’s setting and respecting common goals that make America truly unique.
